Description

Come learn how exercise can be beneficial to an individual with autism. Topics covered will include: are there major physical health concerns for this population; what may be inhibiting an individual from exercising; what other benefits can exercise bring this population besides physical wellbeing; and strategies to help this population become physically active.

Mark Fleming

Mark Fleming received his degree in exercise science from the University of Alabama. He currently is working as a personal trainer with individuals on the autism spectrum to improve this population's health and wellbeing through exercise. He plans to graduate with his master’s in the same field of study and get his CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) before the conference. He also volunteers his time coaching for the Special Olympics. Lastly, he is an adult on the autism spectrum.
