Direct Assistance Our CARD consultants work with families, schools and agencies by providing specific strategies and resources to meet an individual's needs. It can include phone/e-mail contacts and home-based consultation for an individual; community site visits; attending meetings; research and resource dissemination; connecting families to community supports; and/or assistance with implementing ideas from training sessions. Direct assistance from CARD-USF may be provided to any individual constituent (child or adult) but will be limited to the extent that the constituent, family, professional and/or agency is involved in: 1) ongoing CARD-USF training or other education options through CD/video or reading materials, 2) a demonstration project, or 3) a collaborative training plan with a school or agency. Families and professionals will be notified of activities in their local community and will be encouraged to participate if they want to receive direct assistance from CARD-USF consultants. Action
Planning Guide. So that the specific needs of families and professionals
can be clearly identified, and appropriate community and CARD-USF resources/supports
can be provided, an action planning guide will be completed in person
by a CARD-USF staff member. CARD-USF assesses the needs of families,
school districts/agencies, individual schools, and adult-aged constituents
to assist us in meeting the identified needs in an effective manner.
