Training Requests
CARD is a Florida Department of Education Discretionary Project with a goal of collaboration to build capacity across all community settings.
CARD USF provides training for:

  • Schools
  • Community Agencies & Organizations
  • Businesses
  • Committees & Support Groups

CARD USF offers a wide variety of training topics. Examples of training might be

  • Autism awareness or classroom strategies for staff or students in schools
  • Welcoming and employing individuals with autism for businesses
  • Specific training for first responders, health care workers, or in-home services
  • CARD overviews for individuals on the spectrum, their families, or the agencies that support people with autism

Consultation Requests
CARD USF can also provide consultation to educators, childcare providers, employers and businesses to help them understand and support the needs of the people they serve, as well as set up their environments to promote success for people on the autism spectrum.

Consultation for professionals is offered in two ways:
  • A technical assistance request
  • The Autism Friendly Business Initiative

Examples of professional consultation might be:

  • Classroom observation at a day care or school
  • Creating visuals for in-home visitors or classrooms
  • Walk through place of business to identify accessibility considerations
  • Creating social narratives for websites for patients and patrons to use prior to visiting

Outreach and Events
CARD-USF is committed to providing public awareness and outreach events which engage and educate our local communities on the unique characteristics of autism, fostering greater understanding and acceptance.
Thank you for reaching out to CARD-USF and for your commitment to the autism community.  Please note that submitting the Outreach & Event form does not guarantee we can accommodate your request.

Before submitting your request, please keep the following in mind:

• CARD-USF serves a 14-county region with carefully allocated staff and resources.
• Our funding structure requires us to stay within a budgeted number of events per year.
• We make every effort to avoid repeating similar events across our service area.

 We review all requests within 14 days of submission and respond as soon as possible.
